Emil was born in Barmen
on September 27, 1857.
He was the third child of Caspar Biele and Wilhelmine Baacke.
He immigrated to the United States with his mother and siblings
arriving in New York City from Bremen on the S.S. America on Dec 19, 1865.

The
family settled in the lower East side of Manhattan in New York City.
Emil married Christine A. Goertler on April 20, 1882 New York
City.

Emil partnered
with his brother Charles F in the showcase business started by their
father. During the 1880's it was known as "C. F. & E. Biele".
He later sold out to his brother and entered the real estate business
and was an early developer in the Bay Ridge and Fort Hamilton areas of
Brooklyn.
Emil was a leader of the local Democratic party and served as an officer
of the Seventh Assembly Democratic Club and the captain of his district.
Emil died in 1931 at his home in Brooklyn.
